You may want to bring his food dish, but you can always order him a to-go box if you forget. This Fido-friendly eatery has a wide range of side dishes, like slaw and potato salad. The Chicago Cafe, also in Florence, has taken classic fare from all over America and put it on the menu. You can get a New York dog with sauerkraut. The Loop
Tuscumbia is a little bit of a drive at twenty miles. The best part of it is Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve. This park is free and open to the public, but you do have to sign in at the entrance. They will provide you with a map so that you can decide which trails you and your pup want to explore. There are several miles of trails, all of which have different levels of difficulty. There are water stops along the way at the half-mile markers on most, but not all. You do have to keep your pup on a leash here. Be sure to bring plenty of water and waste bags with you.

The most interesting things you will find in Tuscumbia aren't the parks, or the restaurants, but rather its love for its dogs. Tuscumbia has a unique dog-friendly place: Coon Dog Memorial Cemetery. You and your dog can pay respects to local dogs that worked as coon dogs. This cemetery was established in 1937, when Tuscumbia resident Key Underwood buried his dog, Troop, there. You'll need to keep your dog on a leash while you walk the path at this unique place dedicated to dogs. Please respect the cemetery by cleaning up after yourself and your dog, and leave this place of rest as clean as you found it.

Dogs aren't allowed to dine inside, but as long as you bring a leash with you, you and Fido can share some juicy steak at the outdoor tables.
