This unique community is named after the spring-fed lake it rests on and the surrounding 4,460-acre wildlife conservation. Leashed doggies are allowed to enjoy the area and walking trails; however, they are not allowed to go in or near the lake. Lake Panasoffkee Dog Park opens their fences to dogs of all ages and sizes to play in a safe, fenced-in, off-leash environment within the conservation. Lake Okahumpka Park is comprised of 130 acres of fitness and bike trails, boating ramps, BBQ grills, horseshoe pits, Frisbee golf, 4 pet fitness areas, and picnic tables, all of which overlook the beautiful lake. Leashed dogs are invited to enjoy all the park's amenities with their responsible owners! Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming is a fun company where you can take your pooch to shop for gourmet food and treats, then get pampered with a nice grooming.
A short 28-minute drive west of Coleman, the community of Inverness literally has a 360-degree view of state parks, wildlife areas, and bodies of water. Bark Central Dog Park is a huge off-leash dog park that includes 15 acres of play area! The park has a large and small dog side, poop bags, shade trees, picnic benches, and a naturally filtering swimming pond! Holden Community Park is a designated dog walking park that requires dogs be walked along the trails during daylight hours on-leash. The K9 Karnival is an annual event held that features games, prizes and vendors; all donations and monies earned will go toward the County Animal Shelter.
