The city’s name Costa Mesa literally means “coast table” in Spanish, due to the fact that it is a plateau that is geographically located by the coast. Its first inhabitants were Native American Indians. However, the city has grown to be a major commercial and industrial center of Orange County.

One of the 14 official dog parks in Orange County is the Costa Mesa Bark Park. The park is managed by the Costa Mesa Bark Park Foundation. The 2-acre park is full of facilities such as picnic tables, drinking fountains, playgrounds and exercise areas. Most importantly, the two separate areas allow your dogs to freely and safely run around the area. There are also tennis balls lying around for your dog to enjoy.

Talbert Nature Preserve is the perfect place for a change of scenery. It offers almost 2,000 acres of picturesque landscape with a park or picnicking, trail, botanical garden and wildlife. The trail system is laid out perfectly for a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, jogging and it welcomes dogs on leash for some lovely walk with nature.

There is plenty of things to partake in within the city of Costa Mesa like indulging in some retail therapy, discovering the outdoors, getting to know the city’s history and much more. All these happen in Costa Mesa, what’s better is you can experience all of it with your dog.
