Culver City is close to one of the most famous cities in the world: Los Angeles. But Culver City doesn't live in LA's shadow. In fact, just like LA, Culver City played an important role in the motion picture and entertainment industries. It's home to MGM studios, as well as the NPR West and Sony Entertainment headquarters.

There are several dog-friendly restaurants and bars in this city where you and your canine pal can enjoy a drink or a meal together. The Café Brasil, located on Venice Boulevard, and Café Surfas, located on Washington Boulevard, are great places to enjoy a meal with your pup. They both have a dog-friendly patio and a casual atmosphere.

The closest place to swim with your pup is out of town, but the short drive into LA is well worth it. The Two Hands Four Paws physical rehabilitation center has an indoor pool that they allow dogs to swim in for free on the first and third Sundays of each month. This company has been around for some time, but they just recently started offering the pools for free swimming. Whether your pooch is in need of physical therapy or rehabilitation, or he just wants to take a dip with a few new fur-iends, Fido will bark his praises if you bring him here on your next adventure!

If you and your pooch are looking for a great place to bond, head into the heart of the city. The Culver City Park is located here. It's an off-leash dog park that has plenty of room for your pooch to roam. If you're worried about your pooch being small, this park offers separate areas for different sized dogs. There is a lot of parking available, and the best part is that it's free! The park is completely fenced in with most of the surface being dirt, sand or gravel. There are some trees that provide shade for you and your pooch. You can watch your fur baby play from one of the many benches available. The park also provides water fountains for owners and pups to drink from. Bring your own cleanup supplies, because the park does not provide them. Get ready to enjoy quite a few games of fetch with your canine pal here.

If you and your pooch are looking to enjoy a fun day at the beach, you're in the right place. This dog-friendly neighborhood is located about 26 miles from Culver City, and is home to Rosie’s Dog Beach. There's a designated off-leash area for dogs here! Your pup will love feeling the sand underneath his paws as he runs around to his heart's content. However, if you are outside of this section, your pooch will need to stay on their leash. The free parking is limited, but there is metered parking available, too. You will need to bring water, doggie waste bags for cleanup and something for shade since you will be directly in the sun. Don't forget towels, treats, and toys, too!

This dog-friendly neighborhood is located about 10 miles from Culver City and is home to Runyon Canyon Park. This park, which sits just north of Los Angeles, is very spacious. It has a whopping 90-acre off-leash area just for your special pal! You'll find some water stations in this area, but it does get hot, so you can always bring your own as well. Something to keep in mind is that there is not a lot of shade available here. The park does provide a few waste stations for an easier cleanup, though. Various trails wind through this park, which you and Fido can explore together on-leash. The surface of most of the trails is dirt, and your canine friend will love sniffing all the different smells along the way.

You might think it's impossible to spend quality time in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. Nope! Just head to the Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park is in downtown Los Angeles if you don't believe us. Grab your tennis shoes, because you and your pup will be getting some exercise here! There are several trails in this park; some of them are paved, and others are more of a rocky terrain. You will want to make sure you bring plenty of water since there is not a lot of shade on any of these trails. The park does, however, provide cleanup supplies along the trails. You will need to keep your canine friend on a leash while you are visiting this park.

This dog-friendly neighborhood is located 8 miles from Culver City, California and is home to the Mount Hollywood Trail located in Griffith Park. This trail is a fairly easy hike at just 3 miles long. You will need to have your pup on his leash while you are here, though. There will be so many new and exciting scents along the trail for your pup to take in. You will need to make sure to bring extra water since there is very little shade on this trail. Along the trail, there is a restroom available, and also a few places to stop and get something to eat. You both will love the calming atmosphere of this nature trail. Grab your pup’s leash and head to see how much of this beautiful trail you can conquer!
