Daytona Beach, Florida named after its founder, Matthias Day, a wealthy northern entrepreneur who built the Palmetto House in 1874. The city became popular for its hard-packed beaches that allowed motor-vehicles to race. A famous beach in the city is the Ormond Beach, which was dubbed as the birthplace of speed.

Spend some adventure filled vacation in the outdoors with your dog. You can camp at Daytona / State Park Speedway KOA, which is only a few minutes away from Disney World and Kennedy Space Center, or you can enjoy the campsites at Nova Campground. They allow dogs except for Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers and German Shepherds. If you ever would like to go swimming, the beautiful beaches are just right behind the camp.

Just right beside the Daytona Flea Market is Heli-Hogs Barbeque and Helicopter. Do something thrilling like being on their helicopter then enjoy some their heli-licious barbeque, all at the same venue. If you’re interested in riding the chopper, make sure to do to before eating. You know what happens next, right? Don’t worry about bringing your furry baby, dogs are welcome while you dine at Heli-Hogs.

Daytona 500 NASCAR race, Daytona Beach Bike Week, Biketoberfest are just some of the events race fans can look out for. Of course, don’t forget Spring Break! But Daytona Beach isn’t just for them, there are also several places like the Hilton Daytona Beach/ Ocean Walk Village, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona and The Black Sheep Pub who welcome millions of people and dogs visiting the city.

Timothy Pollard Memorial Park is named after Office Pollard who was killed in the line of duty. The park offers many ways to enjoy the day with your dog. There is a playground for your mini humans to play on. Fido will, of course, love the off-leash dog park. It has large, fenced in areas for him to run and play fetch in with his new fur-iends.  If he doesn’t mind staying on the leash, you can take some time to explore the trails as they wind through the park.
