The Mt. Toby State Forest is a 755-acre forest that your dog will love to go and explore. The forest is known for the woodlands, waterfalls, and kettle ponds, and the forest overlooks the Connecticut River Valley. The Mount Toby Trail runs through this forest for 4.3-miles. There is a 921-foot elevation gain on a loop style route. The trail is known to be a little difficult since it can be a bit steep and the hills can be a little rocky. There is a 0.9-mile trail throughout the park where you and your pup can go on a nice walk along. All these great areas are located in Amherst, and only eleven miles out of Deerfield.
