For a challenging and less restricted hike through the woods a trip to the Gallant Woods Preserve is in order. The trails in this natural park lead through dense forests, open grasslands, and wetlands. Dogs can come too as long as they are leashed.
Gallant Woods Preserve is a beautiful 200-acre natural park that is perfect to take your dog to for a great walk. Your dog must remain on leash the entire time while visiting the preserve, but there is so much to enjoy, he won’t mind! Gallant Woods Preserve has numerous loop trails for the two of you to explore. If you want to take your dog on an off-leash adventure, check out Mutt’s Paradise Amusemutt Park. This park allows you to rent a 6-acre park for you and your dog without the worry of other dogs bugging your pooch. Mutt’s Paradise Amusemutt Park has a fenced in park for off-leash fun, and a pond for your dog to splash around in. Current vaccinations are required before you can rent the park out.
The Alum Creek Dog Park is a pawesome park to take your dog to for some great off-leash activities and some socialization. The park is separated by small and large breeds, so no need to worry about your smaller dog getting hurt. The dog park is huge and has plenty of space for running, plus there are trees that provide a lot of shade to help keep everyone cool. The park also boats a water fountain, and even bathrooms for the owners. If your dog loves to play in the water, the Alum Creek Dog Park also has a beach for your dog to play in.
The Companion Club Dog Park is a wonderful fenced in and private dog park that your pup will love. This 11-acre park is filled with grass and wooded areas for you pup to explore, and an agility course for him to run through. If your dog loves to play in the water, then he will love the swimming pond. The park has walking trails, and plenty of shade by the numerous trees that surround it, so no need to worry about your dog getting overheated. If your dog has a little too much fun and gets dirty, the park also offers a self-serve doggie wash to clean your pup. There is an annual membership to join this park, and you need to make sure your dog is up to date on all their vaccinations.
The town of Marion is located a little bit out of Delaware, but has an awesome park your dog would love to visit. The Kaufman Dog Park at Kennedy Park is a great fenced in off-leash park that is separated by large and small breeds. The park has plenty of benches for owners to sit on, and trees to provide ample amounts of shade for everyone. The park is huge which provides a lot of room for running or fetch, and is mainly grass for your dog to roll around in. The park also has a water fountain to help keep Fido hydrated while he has fun.
