"First time using Wag and so far impressed!! Loved the updates and photos!! Can't wait to get home to hear all about my puppy's adventures! "
Colorado is home to more than 200 parks, which range in size from small to enormous. The largest of these is the City Park, which boasts the Denver Zoo, the Museum of Nature and Science, tennis courts, sports fields, and two playgrounds, among other attractions. Dogs are welcome along the paths, making the park a great place for the whole family.
To the west of the city, you’ll find Elk Meadow Park. This field is a popular grazing ground for elk, so you’ll likely catch a glimpse of Colorado wildlife during your visit. There are trails of varying difficulty here, as well as an off-leash area where dogs can socialize and play while their human companions (you!) are able to take a break from the hike.
For a dog park closer to town, swing by the Kennedy Dog Park. Its two areas are separated into High Energy Play and Low Energy Play, ensuring that friendly dogs of all sizes have a place where they feel comfortable.
If you’re just visiting Denver with your furry companion, spend the night at one of many dog-friendly hotels in the city. Several top-rated hotels allow pets without an additional fee, which means you and your pup can easily find a comfortable place to rest at the end of the day.
I currently have two dogs of my own. I've raised one since he was a puppy, and the other I adopted as a senior dog. Starting at around nine years old I've lived with dogs. I grew up with a German Shepherd, which started my love of large dogs. Now I have an extra small Chihuahua and a medium sized mutt. If you can't already tell, I love hanging out with and taking care of dogs of all sizes! I've been a dog walker and pet sitter for several years and look forward to the opportunity to care for more with Wag! I am currently in school to be a veterinary technician, therefore I have experience caring for dogs with medical needs as well. I have also been a foster parent for animals, including dogs, from the local animal shelters.
Hello my two and four legged friends! My name is Erin Emily, I am a 26 yr old transplant from New York living in the Denver area soaking up the stunning landscapes of colorful Colorado. I currently share my home, bed and my bacon (shhh!) with Schatzi, a one year old rescue shepard/lab mix. I have always loved all animals and grew up with many rescued dogs. I volunteer at MaxFund, Denver's no-kill animal shelter where I walk, groom and love pups until they find their forever home. I hope to have a healthy and happy impact on your dog's day too! Dogs are truly our best friends; loyal and always excited about life. We could learn a thing about happiness from them, CHEERS to the dog's life!
