Dayland Dog Park is the local canine hangout. Head over to the 12300 South and 300 East neighborhood and let him mix it up with buddies new and old. He’ll have the time of his life as he romps and plays in the wide open space. A stream runs through the center of the park, so during the hot months you’ll probably find him in the water cooling off. Two legged visitors can relax on the benches underneath the shade structures, or take a stroll around the paved walking path that outlines the park. Petite pooches have a separate area all to themselves.

Draper’s City Center is home to Draper City Park. This park is a local favorite and a pupperific spot for an outing with your four legged companion. Clip on your pup’s leash and take a few laps around the walking trail. Let your pooch's nose be the guide as you wander through the open grassy fields. Find a spot near the small creek and enjoy your buddy’s company. Just across the street is the trail head for the Porter Rockwell Trail. Running just over ten miles, this paved trail follows an old railroad line. The Willow Creek Trail can also be accessed at Draper City Park. This shorter trail is only 2.1 miles.

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail is located in the Corner Canyon neighborhood. This trail actually stretches about 100 miles along the base of the Wasatch Mountains, but an eight mile section is accessible in Draper. Head out onto the trail and enjoy the scenic views of the Salt Lake valley. There's not much shade and temperatures can rise pretty quickly, so if you're going in the summer, be sure to start in the early morning or later in the evening. Chances are you'll pass some mountain bikers or trail runners, so be sure to keep your pal on a leash. A hike on this trail is sure to make your pup one happy hound!

Looking for a new place to walk your pup? Check out Mehraban Wetlands Park in the 1300 East and Draper Parkway neighborhood. This hidden gem is in the middle of residential streets and provides a little slice of nature in suburbia. Paved and gravel paths wind through natural wetlands. Two large ponds are usually busy with local fisherman. Your furry BFF will have a fetching good time as you wander around the trails and listen to the birds that call this park home. There are also a couple docks with benches for those who want to just sit and enjoy the scenery.
