Dublin, California is a relatively new town, incorporated in 1982, and was named after Dublin, Ireland. It is the fastest-growing city in California and is forecasted to have close to 76,000 inhabitants by 2030. An estimated 11,206 dogs live in 7,004 homes in Dublin, which means there are plenty of dog-friendly things to do in town.

There are two excellent dog parks in Dublin to keep Fido busy while you relax. Bray Commons on Finnian Way has almost five acres of land with picnic tables, barbeque pits, basketball, volleyball, trails, playgrounds, drinking fountains, and restrooms. When Fido wants to run off-leash, you can take him to the fenced-in dog park right there in Bray Commons. Dougherty Hills Dog Park has separate dog runs for small and large pups with turf, a doggie water fountain, benches, tunnels, seesaw ramps, and doggie poo bags. It is decorated with playful metal art made by local artist, Johanna Pothig.

If the beach is more your thing, you can visit North Beach on 29th and Solana Beach, Main Beach on Powerhouse Park and 29th, or South Beach Area on Powerhouse Park and 6th Street. Fido has to be leashed at the South and Main Beaches, but the North Beach allows your furbaby to have off-leash fun. These are family beaches with playgrounds so you have to keep an eye on your pup and pick up after him.
