Come and visit East Enterprise, Indiana to take a step back in time. East Enterprise has preserved a quaint, archaic peace which is only found in small communities like this one. The town witnessed the first gas station go up when the very first, and only, car was bought in 1907. The first bank went up in 1908. They have a one-room schoolhouse, and just one stop light. It is the place where history lives on.

There's not much here in terms of dog-friendly amenities, but the town is a great place to share a quiet stroll with your best friend. Take a walk through the city and see the bank, school-house, and gas station for yourself. Walk through the cemetery and pay respects to the Civil War veterans who once called East Enterprise home.
You'll find more conventional dog-friendly amenities, like parks, restaurants, and hotels, just a short drive from East Enterprise.
It will take you and your pup about thirty minutes to reach the Heritage Trail of Madison, located just outside Clifty Falls State Park. You will be able to walk along the old railroad tracks, as they are still in place through most of the trail. The walk is mostly through dense forest and comes out at the water treatment plant. This is where you have a choice to make. You can take the switch back, which will take you right back where you started, or you can continue on north. The north part of the trail leads up a steep grade. It is challenging for most walkers, and is known as the steepest grade of rail line that can be found in America. Are you and Fido up to the challenge?
