Less than two hours north of Elmendorf is Lost Maples State Natural Area. This incredible park offers fun for everyone all year round, including your furry friend. You and your pup can enjoy a nice hike on one of the park’s many scenic trails, or you can even backpack and camp together, sharing a coveted night-time stargaze away from city lights.

A 25-minute drive to the northeast side of San Antonio will bring you to the charming neighborhood of Hill Country. Perhaps the greatest attraction of this area is the expansive Comanche Lookout Park, located just south of the neighborhood’s border. This park features nearly five miles of hiking trails, so you and your furry friend will have endless fun here. There’s also a playground and 14 picnic units scattered throughout the park as well! Not only do the trails provide numerous scenic views, but they also offer a variety of terrain and elevation changes. Although, nothing can beat the view from the top, something you and your four-legged friend will surely remember for years to come.
