Quiet, peaceful and charming, Evans City, PA sits snug on the banks of Breakneck Creek, just 28 miles out from Pittsburgh. The small town is a perfect location for those who want to press "paws" on the fast paced, big city grind. Here, you’ll find a downtown dotted with locally-owned business, and a strong sense of community showcased by various events throughout the year.

Movie buffs might know Evans City as the filming location of George A. Romero’s 1968 zombie horror classic Night of the Living Dead, but one only needs to attend Evans City’s Oktoberfest celebrations to see there’s life in the old town yet! There’s no veterinary clinic in town, but fur-tunately, you’ll find a choice of clinics to take good care of your buddy in nearby Renfrew, Butler and Mars.

There’s no designated dog park in Evans City, but you and your pooch can still sniff out some exercise options! The town’s EDCO park might be based around a pool, but there’s still a couple of walking trails for you two to stretch all six of your legs on. And don’t worry -- you’ll find plenty of scope for off-leash adventures, as well as some furrifically dog-friendly hiking trails, just a short drive away!

Make no bones about it -- your pooch will love a trip to the Rotary Dog Park in Cranberry Township! There’s a whole four acres of space for your fur ball to run about and tire themselves out in, divided fairly evenly between the small and large dog sections. Bags and water are provided, so all you need to do is bring your pup and some toys and prepare to play! Careful, though -- the park doesn’t get much shade, so it might be wise to give it a miss on a hot summer’s day.

North Park’s 3,000 acres contain miles upon miles of wooded, leashed-dog friendly hiking trails, a beautiful man-made lake popular with boaters, playing fields, playgrounds, and best of all, its own off-leash dog park! The dog run, like North Park itself, is huge, and everything you need in terms of bags, toys, and water is provided on-site. There’s no separate small dog area, but if that’s not a deal-breaker, you’d be barking mad not to visit!

The Lucky Paws Dog Park and Pool in Freedom is a real mutts-visit! If your pooch loves swimming as part of their off-leash play time, they’ll have a whale of a time at this one-of-a-kind doggy water park. The pool is seasonal, of course, but your furry friend can have fun here whatever the weather.
