The neighborhood of Coolidge is a quiet one, mixed with rows of homes and dense trees throughout the area. The neighborhood shares its name with the park inside the area, Coolidge Park. The park is huge, with a large open area to run around and play in, fenced-in baseball fields, paved trails, and other recreational fields surrounded by woods. There's enclosed tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, and even a dog park. The dog park costs a shaded, fenced-in area to let your pup play off-leash. There's clean-up bags, water fountains, a double-gated entrance, and trash bins available inside the park. Outside the dog park, dogs must remain on a leash.

Summer Street
Summer Street is a neighborhood filled with residential homes and a small shopping area, on the east side of town. In the area, the best-known park is Goodrich Park, thanks to its large open space, shaded walkways and sitting areas, fenced-in tennis courts, playground, and lovely picnic area. Leash up Fido before coming here, and enjoy amenities like water fountains, trash bins, and benches. The Laurel Bank Conservation Area is right on the edge of the neighborhood, and provides hikers a nice, natural area to explore in. The preserve boasts over 120 acres of protected land, with 3 miles of dirt trails, open areas for picnics, and no rules requiring dogs to be on a leash.

Upper Common
Upper Common is a suburban neighborhood outside of downtown Fitchburg. The bustling neighborhood has some tremendous dog-friendly parks though, including Gateway Park. The park rests right along the Nashua River, with open space and views of the river, surrounded by trees on the opposite side of the park. Additionally, there is a playground, paved walkways, water fountains, and benches available to leashed pups. Not far from the park is Crocker Field, a recreational football, and soccer field with a baseball field, open space, restrooms, and a picnic tables. The park is dog-friendly to leashed pups, and offers up water fountains, and benches.

Central Fitchburg is home to the city's downtown area, major shopping centers, and lots of small businesses. Despite the busy atmosphere, the community has some serene parks, like Fitchburg Riverfront Park.
