Christopher Columbus Dog Park is quite literally across Highway 10 from Flowing Wells. It is an off-leash dog park that features open spaces for Fido to run and play in. There is a waste center, scrambling area, and even a watering station for you to take advantage of. There are plenty of seating areas as well as a ramada if you need to take a load off while Fido plays with his fur-iends. One of the best perks of this park is that it is well-lit at night. That means you and your pal can enjoy a game of fetch after the relentless Arizona sun goes down. Don’t forget to bring some water!
More than 5,000 acres of trails await you, just 20 minutes away from Flowing Wells! Catalina State Park is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon getaway. There are tons of marked trails for you to explore. Not all of them are dog-friendly, depending on the time of year, because of the wildlife that calls this park home. However, if you check the board or the website, you can easily see which trails are open when you visit. You will need to keep your dog on his leash during your visit. Come take in the majestic views, and let the stresses of everyday life melt away.
Pima Air and Space Museum invites you to join your dog to learn about the 300+ spacecrafts on display. Your leashed, well-behaved pal is allowed to join you on select tours. Be sure to check the website or call ahead to find out which tours are Fido-friendly. The tours that don’t allow fur babies does have a staff member available to sit with them while you enjoy the tour. It is completely possible to spend the entire day walking through the history of the air and space program at the Pima Air and Space Museum. Don’t forget to bring a couple of treats to give Fido after the tour is over to congraulate him for being such a good boy.
