Folcroft Borough Center
Folcroft is host to dog-friendly John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, America’s first urban refuge, which was established to preserve Tinicum Marsh as well as provide an oasis for people and their dogs in an otherwise urban setting. The 10 miles of trails at the refuge are open year-round from dawn to dusk, and they amble through tidal marshes and along Darby Creek. There are 3 observation decks for viewing waterfowl and other birds, as well as fox and deer. If you want a closer look, canoes and kayaks can be put in at the trailhead parking area. Don’t forget the life jackets for you and your furry first mate!
