The Point
Just nine minutes from Fredonia is Point Gratiot Park. Located in The Point neighborhood of Dunkirk, this park offers you a fantastic view of Lake Erie. The park has a few easy, flat, paved paths that wind through and around it. None of them will count as a day hiking, but they're still a fun time at the park. This park also has a lot of grassy space. If your dog would rather amble along following their nose than stick to the path, this is the park for you. There are also benches and picnic tables. Dogs have to be leashed in the park.

Downtown Dunkirk's Memorial Park is just a nine minute drive from the heart of Fredonia. It's a great place to go with a large group, due to the variety of activities it offers! Send the kids off to the playground and get the family chef set up at the grill spots! Cyclists can hit the small bike path. You and your dog can as well; the goal of the path is to share the road! Just keep your dog on a short leash to be sure that you're not crowding the path. Memorial Park also has an educational plaque regarding Dunkirk's veterans.
