Recreation Way/ Peninsula Road

The Frisco Nordic Center is a great place to head to with your furry pal if you're looking to fill your day with a little fun and adventure. They offer a course that gives you and Fido a self-guided snowshoe adventure through snowshoe trails. These snow covered trails are god for a refreshing walk, or a vigorous ski adventure with Fido in tow. They ask that your dog remains on leash during the winter since the snow can get rough. Make sure to bring water and clean-up bags with you, plus the proper gear for Fido to run in the snow.

Meadow Creek

If Fido is looking for a great hike, take him out on the Meadow Creek Trail. The 9-mile long trail will take you through the White River National Forest and gives you two options on paths, depending on how hard you want the hike to be. You can go on the Eccles Pass that requires your pup to be leashed, will take you through a wilderness area, and is known to be a little difficult. Or head towards Lily Pad Lake which is a shorter hike that gives you great views. Both hikes are perfect for energetic dogs and first time hikers.

Tenmile Creek

Take an easy hike with your pup on the Ten Mile Creek Trail. The trail is 6.6-miles long with a 872-foot elevation gain on an out and back route. The trail will take you around a lake and is perfect for first time hikers and their dogs. There is plenty of shade from trees on this trail, and in the winter, it is usually covered with snow, so dress appropriately. The trail is pretty popular among other hikers and their furry pals, so make sure Fido is in a sociable mood before heading out together on this hike.

Copper Mountain

The Wheeler Lakes Trail is a 6.8-mile path that takes you through the White River National Forest. On it, you will travel through the Eagles Nest Wilderness and along the Gore Range Trail. There is a 1,551-foot elevation gain, so you and your pup will feel the burn on this out and back route. Your dog needs to stay on leash while you hike this trail, but you will be secluded while hiking since this isn't a popular trail with locals. Make sure to bring water with you while hiking as the trail doesn't offer a lot of shade.

Main Street

After hiking all day, you and Fido probably worked up an appetite together. Luckily, there is a plethora of great restaurants that the two of you can dine at. Prost is a German restaurant that offers 15 types of sausages and German draft beer. Bread and Salt has a hospitable atmosphere and dishes out breakfasts, lunch, and dinner with a menu that has classic favorites like pancakes and burgers. Peppino's Pizza and Subs is an award winning eatery that serves salads, soups, pasta, and build your own pizza. All of these great restaurants offer dog friendly patios, and if none fit Fido's fancy, there are plenty more to choose from.
