Dog Areas in Gallatin

Gallatin, Tennessee, doesn’t provide much as far as dog parks are concerned, but luckily, there are a few dog parks in nearby cities. Take the William A. Pitts Dog Park, for example. Located approximately 11 miles away in the city of Antioch, William A. Pitts Dog Park is a completely fenced-in, two-acre dog park that has walking trails and fresh drinking water nearby. William A. Pitts Dog Park is located on Tusculum Road and is open from sunrise to sunset every day. There is no admission fee for this dog park.

Now let’s drive a little further down the road to Mount Juliet. Mount Juliet is a city about 13 miles away from Gallatin and is home to Bark Park. Bark Park is located on SE Springdale Drive and spans across ¾ of an acre. Your dog will have loads of fun running leash-free and playing on the doggie playground. Owners must clean up after their dogs, and bringing along fresh drinking water wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Okay, now drive just a little bit further to White House, which is about 14 miles away. White House is home to the White House Walking Trail (fitting, right?). White House Walking Trail is an ideal place to take in Tennessee’s beautiful sights and unwind from a hectic day. Fido is more-than-welcome to join you as long as he is on her leash at all times.

This beautiful neighborhood houses Cages Bend, a popular campsite that’s right up against a lake and located in the southern part of the area. Not only does this campsite allow dogs, but this natural space is also fed by a river and is home to a lot of wildlife. Because of the abundance of animals, dogs who can’t be persuaded away from chasing shouldn’t be brought. For the more adventurous pups, going out on the lake and enjoy the shimmering waters while they sail along or cast out can be pawrific!  If you’re going camping with your pup, remember to reserve your campsite and always keep your dog under command.

Cherokee Road is a friendly neighborhood with gorgeous views. Just south is a subdivision of Lock 4 Park called The Point, a beautiful natural expanse that’s nestled right into Cumberland River. Aside from the shade trees and gorgeous grassy areas, this area also has a bike trail that is perfect for more adventurous walkers. The trail is definitely not a smooth ride, with lots of incline changes along the way. Be prepared to hike if you and your pup are hoofing it! Your pup is sure to adore the exercise. Just be sure to keep your dog leashed, as none of the park is fenced in and there tends to be unpredictable wildlife.
