Silver Plume
The small town of Silver Plume is about 10 minutes west of Georgetown, and is home to a puptastic hike that will make your dog’s tail wag. Make your way over to the Argentine Railroad Grade Trailhead to get the party started. As you venture into the aspens and pines, you’ll pass mining ruins and old timber. Since it sits on the north face of the mountain and is heavily forested, this trail remains nice and cool in the hot summer months. After about 2.5 miles, you’ll come to an old stone chimney at Pavilion Point. Let your pup enjoy the panoramic view before turning around and heading down the trail.

Dillon
Head 10 miles south of Georgetown and you’ll come to a hot bed of pawsome hikes. This area is located just over the Guanella Pass in the east part of Dillon. Start your adventure with a hike to Silver Dollar Lake. Just the beauty alone will make your pooch a happy hound. After about 1.5 miles, you’ll arrive at the small blue alpine lake. The massive Square Top Mountain sits in the background. Hang out here for a while before continuing another half mile to Murray Lake. Keep your eyes open for mountain goats and moose, and fields of colorful wildflowers. Sounds woofin’ amazing!
