Stick to the path or meander through the park’s large grassy area. There are picnic tables, benches and a playground, plus a basketball court and skate park. This beautiful park in the heart of town is understandably a pawpular spot to hang out! The Downtown Granite neighborhood is also where the city’s fenced-in off-leash park, Eagle Dog Park, is located.

Menzel Lake Road and Area
Hikers and their pups love Granite Falls’ Menzel Lake Road and Area neighborhood for its Lime Kiln Trail. At seven miles roundtrip, the Lime Kiln Trail is a pawsome hike with your leashed dog. What makes this trail unique are the artifacts of trains and buildings from more than 80 years ago that can still be found along the path. The forested expanse used to be a thriving lime production area, however all that’s left are remanence of bridges, structures and an old lime kiln, hence the trail’s name. The trail is heavy with moss, vegetation and a thick canopy of trees, so conditions are usually cooler and damp on the hike.

The natural area has more than 100 acres of undeveloped forest and meadows. The neighborhood’s other parks, Terrace Park, Jensen Park and Centennial Park, are woofderful spots for picnics and nice easy strolls. If you and Fido want to get your heartrate up, try the neighborhood’s Zimmerman Hill Climb, a 2,000-foot stretch of nothing but stairs!
