neighbour Saint Clair Shores has a dog park called Statler Maloof Bark Park
within Brys Park, where your pup will have a great time running around off the
lead. You will need to go prepared with a license from the Saint Clair Shores
Civic Arena, so make sure you have your dog’s veterinary papers with you. Once
in the park, your pup can play in one of the two safe fenced areas designated by dog
size while you sit back and supervise under the shade. There is water, some
toys and waste bags provided here. Once your pup has had a play, go for an
on-lead walk together along one of the trails at Brys Park.

Jefferson/ Chalmers
On the border of Gross Pointe in the city of Detroit, you
will find the Riverfront-Lakewood East Park and adjacent Alfred Brush Ford
Park. Both parks have plenty of open space for playing catch or a friendly game
of chase with your pup, as well as a walking path along the waterfront. There
is a little playground to keep the human kids happy, and picnic tables
and benches throughout. As this is a public park, you need to keep your dog
close by and make sure you clean up after him. Bring water for you both, as
well as a drinking bowl for your thirsty pup.

Muse St/ Wayside Place
Belle Isle in Detroit is an amazing 982-acre
island with lots of places to explore with your dog. The Blue Heron Lagoon
trail in the eastern edge is a beautiful walk just over a mile long. At the
other end of the island is Sunset Point, where you can take in spectacular
views of the city over the Detroit River. If you like beachcombing, the Belle Isle
Beach is another lovely place for a walk with your dog, and there are plenty of
other places in between to find. Entry to Belle Isle requires a recreation pass, which you can purchase at the gate, or along with your yearly tab renewal on your state license for a small fee. This pass allows you entry into all of Michigan's state parks for a year. The only place dogs are not allowed on this island is the conservatory. Keep your pup leashed during your visit to Belle Isle.

Lake St Clair
To the north of Grosse Point is Veterans
Memorial Park in Saint Clair Shores – a perfect spot to take your pet for a
play and a walk. This park boasts lakefront views, plenty of space to play,
picnic areas, restroom facilities and a paved walking path to enjoy. Close by
is Saint Clair Shores Park (Wahby Park), which also has all the amenities you
need for a lovely day out, including picnic tables, barbeque facilities, a
playground, restrooms and pavilions. There are paved walking paths here that
take you through the park and over a picturesque pond. What a great way to
enjoy some sunshine together!

Old 13 Mile Rd
If your pet is craving some off-lead time, head up to Anne Fracassa Memorial Dog Park in nearby Warren. This fenced dog park has agility equipment and toys to keep your pup playing happily, and benches for you to comfortably sit at while you supervise. There is running water here, but bring a drinking bowl for pooch. Before your visit, you will need to organise a pass from the Warren Parks and Recreation Office or apply online, but the fee is very reasonable and helps keep the park in pawsome form. Afterwards, head to Limelight Sports Grill and Bar to top off your day with a good meal and cold drink. Your pooch is welcome to join you at one of the outside tables during fine weather.
