Right in the heart of Gulf Shores sits the Gulf Shores Dog Park. This off-leash dog park has sections for big and small dogs, and it's open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. The dog park includes water fountains for dogs, picnic tables, benches, waste disposal items, shade, and plenty of balls for your pup to chase. The Gulf Shores Dog Park is known for being frequented by friendly regulars, but this clean and spacious park is welcoming to newcomers as well. There's also a paved trail nearby so you can take your dog for an on-leash walk before or after their time at the off-leash park.

Orange Beach is a small city in Alabama that's only about a 15-minute drive from Gulf Shores. In the city's eastern quadrant, there is a dog park known as Unleashed in Orange Beach. This dog park opened in 2010, and it includes separate big and small dog sections, as well as some agility training equipment. The entirety of the park is about 3/4 of an acre, and it also includes water stations for dogs, seating, and waste disposal items. The park runs on donations, and there are donation boxes at the entrance of the park where you can make a contribution to its ongoing maintenance.

The Lexington Terrace Bark Park, just across the way from Pensacola's Aero Vista neighborhood, is less than 30 miles from Gulf Shores. This off-leash dog park includes sections for big and small dogs to play safely with dogs of their own size, as well as a gate that can be opened to connect the two areas. There are water bowls and fountains in the park, as well as seating and shade to keep owners comfortable. Visitors love how well-maintained the park is, and note that the grass is nicely manicured and people are responsible about cleaning up after their pets. To keep the park in such great shape, there are waste bags provided by the park as well.

The Fairhope Dog Park in central Fairhope, Alabama is less than 30 miles north of Gulf Shores. This beautiful and spacious park has separate sections for big and small dogs, as well as wooded areas to explore and open fields to run in. Not only are there water stations where dogs can re-hydrate, but there are also kiddie pools set up where dogs can splash and swim. You'll find seating, shade, and lots of toys for dogs to run and chase in the park, and generous volunteers have beautified the park and added potted plants and other nice touches to the space.

Only a fifteen-minute drive north of Gulf Shores will get you to northern Foley, Alabama and the Foley Dog Park. This clean and safe dog park has big and small dog enclosures, and it's free to use and doesn't require a membership. There are water fountains, benches, and waste disposal stations throughout the park. There are also some covered seating areas, and for additional shade, 30 trees were recently planted in the park. Just across the street from the dog park is John B. Foley Park, and this is a scenic spot to go for an on-leash walk with your dog before or after your trip to the off-leash park.
