Although the community doesn’t have much to offer dog owners, its proximity to Columbus makes it a great area that’s still away from the noise of the city. Harrisburg also has over twenty vet clinics within twenty miles of town center, making it a safe place for pups.

One of the closest amenities is the Walnut Woods Dog Park just twenty miles east in Groveport, OH. You and your pooch can enjoy ice cream, shakes, or smoothies at one of the outdoor tables.

Another option is the Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, which can be found fifteen minutes north in Galloway, OH. This massive nature area includes more than 7,000 acres of prairies, forest, and wetlands. There are nearly ten total miles of dog-friendly trails, and pups are also welcome in the picnic areas. Be sure to check out the herds of free-range bison which are enclosed in two fenced pastures.
