Hastings, Minnesota, located near the confluence of the Mississippi, Vermillion, and St. Croix Rivers, emerged as a riverboat port. Hastings offers three veterinarian clinics within its borders. Hastings Veterinary Clinic, Riverbend Pet Hospital, and Town & Country Veterinary Services are ready to look after your pooch. Hastings is a safe and friendly town, with a small town feel that will make anyone feel welcome. Try out three restaurants that offer dog-friendly outdoor seating for you and your pup.

For an energetic afternoon, your pup will love running and playing with other dogs at the Rivertown Dog Park as you enjoy meeting other pet owners. The park posts rules to assure good pet-iquette, and provides dog-waste bags to help with cleanup. Lake Rebecca also has some great trails for a leashed walk and opportunities to view the Trumpeter Swans who are being rehabilitated.

Lake Sarah has a large, fenced in, off-leash area for your pup to run to his heart’s content. If swimming is your pup's delight, he will love a dip in Bullfrog Lake or a leap into Lake Isabelle. You and Fido will enjoy the natural beauty of the 28-mile trail system running from Vermillion Falls through Old Mill Park, the site of an 1800s flour mill, and down to 2nd Street to the Mississippi. Stop by WW Farm, a small family apple farm where there's much more to do than buying apples and where Fido is welcome to join in on a dog-tastic farm experience.
