The city of Hayward, located in the eastern part of the San Francisco Bay Area, is a very ethnic diverse community with a large Latino population. In fact, Hayward is one of the most diverse communities in the state. With this demographic breakdown, it also becomes clear that the population of Hayward has a preference to dogs over cats.
The Eden Greenway Dog Park is one of the attractions in town that caters to the needs of dogs and their owners. This attractive off-leash dog parks is split into two sections. There is one area for smaller breeds and one area where larger dogs can play without scaring their smaller friends. Furthermore, the dog park is equipped with anything a dog park would ever need: water fountains, benches, shaded areas and fences.
There are also other ways for dogs to get some exercise. A great idea, for instance, is to enjoy a day on the Hayward Shoreline. This regional park, located on the coastal area of East Bay, is part of the San Francisco Bay Trail and a protected area. Dogs therefore have to be on a leash at all times to protect wildlife. The location is also a very popular destination among birdwatchers.
