Dog Areas in High Ridge

6 Trails

The small town of High Ridge sits in the shadow of the sprawling muttropolis that is St. Louis. There are many activities in the area for people and their dogs. It isn't necessary to leave High Ridge, though, to find veterinary services. You'll find three veterinary hospitals and clinics here, each of which provide routine and emergency care for dogs. Some of the clinics even offer additional services, like off-leash play areas and access to swimming. You can purchase packages to take advantage of these amenities.

But High Ridge has more to offer than just veterinary services. Here, you'll find Access 44, a park area of almost 1,000 acres that is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. It's located off of Antire Road. This large recreational facility is also home to shooting and archery ranges, which is good to know if your dog doesn't like noise. Dogs are allowed on the property, but should be on leash at all times.

Access 44 also includes three designated walking trails. The first trail is an easy trail of .4 miles, and it's also accessible to people with disabilities. The second trail is 2.2 miles long, and is a moderately easy trail that takes hikers through forest and grassland. The longest trail is 11.8 miles long and is used by hikers and those on horseback. People with their pups will enjoy their time together in this scenic nature area that is not very far from the populated communities of St. Louis.
