Nestled in Henderson County, North Carolina is the small town of Horse Shoe. This town took its name from a nearby meander in the French Broad River that is shaped like a horse's shoe. Although the community is small, Horse Shoe is still home to six veterinarians for to keep resident and visiting dogs in the best of health.

If your dog is itching to run around in the park, then head to Etowah Park, which offers 18-acres of park fun for your dog to enjoy. The park has a covered pavilion, picnic tables, a playground, tennis courts, and a soccer field. If you dog loves to sniff and explore, check out the walking trail that Etowah Park has to enjoy a nice hike.

Since Horse Shoe is such a small town, there aren’t any local restaurants that you and Fido can eat at together. Luckily, Asheville is just a car ride away and home to a plethora of dog friendly restaurants that the two of you can dine at together. Check out Sunny Point Café, a family-owned establishment that serves upscale made-from-scratch food in a cozy atmosphere.
