The best dog friendly neighborhoods in Hot Springs National Park

Park Ave

Does your dog want to live like a pioneer, smack dab in the middle of the wilderness? Park Ave cuts through the park and neighborhood, and if your dog lives here, he's planted right in the thick of it. There are two dog-friendly restaurants in this neighborhood. The first is Fat Jack's Oyster Bar & Grill, which serves Louisiana-style seafood and, of course, oysters on the half shell. The other place is Rolando's Nuevo Latino. At Rolando's, you can get authentic Spanish food like the Ensalada De La Casa and Guacatostada. Great meal to bring Fido to after a hot bath in the springs!

Downtown Hot Springs Village

Does your dog bark at the mailman? Then he might get a tail-wag at the wax sculptures in the Josephine Tussaud Wax Museum! The museum is dog-friendly, with sculptures of everyone from Jimmy Carter to Rapunzelstiltskin. You'll be surprised by the attention to detail and realism of the wax sculptures. Don't mistake the wax for the real thing! Fido's bark means it's one for the bucket list! Also in the downtown area, you can get your favorite Mexican dish paired with a fine wine. Menu highlights include Tucatecos, Queso Fundido, and Langosta! Give Fido a chip if he's a good boy!

Quapaw Historic Area

Does your dog have an affinity for the American mobster? If you live in the Quapaw Historic neighborhood, you can take a touristy trip down to the Gangster Museum of America. Here, you can take Fido on a tour of the organized crime syndicates of the past. Sounds pawfully interesting! Galleries include Al Capone, Owen Madden, and the gangsters that took over Hot Springs during the late 1800s. What goes better with mobster museums than Italian cuisine? Head up to Angel's in the Park for a plate of fried goat cheese followed with Manicotti. For dessert, inspire your inner Capone with cannoli! Feel free to bring your dogs to act out Lady and the Tramp!

Hot Springs

Does your dog want to hike through the wilderness to smell flowers? If your doggie botanist lives around the Hot Springs, then you can hike through the park to search for rare flowers like the Chinquapin and rare Graves Spleenwort. There is also an abundance of wildlife species to check out around the Hot Springs. Depending on the time of the year, you can watch migrating butterflies make a pit stop in the park, or see frogs and salamanders in the shallow waters of the creeks. Fido needs to be on his leash in the park, but other than that, he's welcome to bask in the majestic wilderness of this Arkansas forest.

Trivista

Do you have a German Shepherd? Or, maybe just a dog with a fondness for German cuisine? If your pup loves to snack on Wiener Schnitzel, you can head to the Trivista neighborhood, where you'll find Steinhaus Keller, a German restaurant with delicious chef's specials. The best part is, Fido's A-OK to join you on your culinary adventure. The kitchen recommends the Volcano Veal Shank, Sauerkraut Soup, or the Lamb Chops! Your dog's going to be begging you for a bite at Steinhaus Keller! Maybe he can munch on the safe bones from your meal if he's well-behaved. For dessert, you have to get a slice of Black Forrest Cake!
