Novato

Only a half-hour drive from Inverness is the town of Novato, and Novato has its very own dog park. Dog Bone Meadows at O'Hair Park is an oasis for pets and their owners. This two-acre park is fenced in, and in fact, it is the largest fenced dog park in all of Marin County! The park has a doggy pool, agility equipment, and running water. There is also a shaded area when you and Rover need a  break from the California sun, and the park provides waste bags to help keep the area clean, too. There is a quarter-mile track within the park where humans can get their exercise as well.

Central Inverness

The Point Reyes Coastline spans for 80 miles, and most of this area lies within central Inverness. While the Point Reyes Coastline contains several beaches, its namesake beach, Point Reyes Beach, A.K.A. "The Great Beach," is a local favorite for dog owners to walk their best friends. This beach makes up 11 miles of the Point Reyes Coastline, and is a popular spot for those wanting to watch the heavy surf come in. During the winter months, certain areas of the beach are restricted to both humans and dogs in order to protect the elephant seals and their habitat, but there is still plenty of beach left to explore!

Dillon Beach Main

In well under an hour, you can make it from Inverness to Dillon Beach, California, where you will find the only private beach in the state. In addition to the private beach, there is a public beach which is also known as Dillon Beach where dogs are welcome to join you for a day of fun in the sun. Many beaches require dogs to be on-leash at all times, but Dillon Beach has no leash laws and simply requires that your dog is well-behaved in order to enjoy this stunning California beach.
