If you want to eat or get a cup of coffee with your fur buddy, you can visit Mona Lisa Pizza, Mangia Brick Oven Pizza and Rosko's Bagels & Waffles. A little bit further from Johnson Dog Park, you'll find Jackson Dog Park. This park has also separate fenced areas for small and large dogs. Just 9 miles north of Jackson is the Turkey Swamp Park. The park is as dog-friendly as it is family-friendly. It has lots of trails and beautiful lakeside path where you can walk your dog on-leash. You should bring waste bags to clean up after your doggo, though. Be wary of the ticks, too! Ensure your dog is protected against fleas and ticks before you visit. This securely fenced, doggie heaven is a really big park with lots of toys and tennis balls for your fur baby. In the summer, there's a water fountain; in winter, people bring jugs of water for the dogs. It has plenty of seating for the pet parents and more than enough space for the dogs to run and play. The park has plenty of shade for those sweltering summer days. Separate sections for small and large dogs are available, and poop bags are provided within the park as well.

If you feel like both you and your fur baby deserve some beach fun, you don't have to travel that far from Jackson to get it. Drive just 25 miles from Jackson to arrive in doggie heaven on 8th Ave Dog Beach. Dogs can be off-leash, swim and dig around in the sand here. Dog hours are from 6 pm - 8:30 am during the summer to ensure that they can have extra fun when the beach isn't so crowded. From October 1st through May 15th, dogs are allowed on the beach all day! Make sure you bring poop bags and plenty of water for your pup. There are also plenty of dog-friendly places to eat and chill out, such as Wonder Bar, Brickwall Tavern & Dining Room, Pop's Garage, and many more.
