Lake George, Colorado, lies in the Arapahoe Mountains. Although this very small, rural community does not offer big city amenities, it is visited for its dog-friendly, outdoor amenities and its small-town charm. Just one short drive down the main road offers a few storefronts, so you will be able to find care for your fur-ever friend, if needed, at the Animal Care Clinic located here.

First and foremost, this town features topnotch trout fishing and ice fishing at the Eleven-Mile Reservoir. Or take your pawtastic pup for a hike on their trails which run for 5 miles around this reservoir. Overnight camping and boating are features here as well.

Visit the Spinney Mountain Reservoir also frequented for its spectacular fishing, hiking trails and boating on a 2500-acre lake. This is a summer recreation area only, so plan accordingly. Why not rent a canoe or a kayak and take your pup for a spin on the lake? Afterwards, plan a picnic and flip some burgers on their provided BBQ grills! Many of the less-travelled areas do not require Fido to be on leash in this park.

Lake George is certainly your ticket to outdoor fun with your special fur-ever pup!
