Lebanon, Ohio started out in 1802, with only two houses and two streets, and now it has more than 45 manufacturing companies. It was actually named after the country in the Middle East because the many cedar trees reminded settlers of Lebanon. The town of Lebanon is also very popular with dog owners, and there are close to 4,600 living there.

Ida Juris Bennett Dog Park on Cook Road is a favorite place for dogs and their humans in Lebanon. The park is over three acres and has separate large and small dog sections. It is completely fenced in so you can let Fido off the leash and there are almost always some friendly dogs and humans around to visit with.

Like hiking? Take your furball to the Little Miami Scenic Trail in the Miami Valley. There are an amazing 330 miles of trails, of which about 70 of them run through Ohio. There are a few options for those looking for an adventure, including the ability to walk the whole trail, or just a little of it; hiking over several bridges, through small towns and parks, and there are even some shops and restrooms along the way. You will be walking along the Little Miami River through most of the hike where you can see deer, otters, beaver, hawks, and maybe even a coyote or fox.
