Lima is a larger town with the remaining charms of a small town. Sitting in the northwestern part of Ohio, Lima rests on both sides of the Ottawa River. The city has a rich history, with a historic district and 22 buildings listed on the Historial Register, and has also been the hometown of many famous authors. One historical fact that has never changed is Lima's love for their pups and how much they try to provide for them and their humans.

Humans and pups of Lima love to head out to Schoonover Park, a 69-acre park that has a 29-acre lake, large open areas, 1.1 miles of paths, and a shaded picnic and sitting area. Pups must remain on a leash, but can enjoy as much as humans can at the park, including fishing access, enclosed basketball courts, and a pavilion. Additional features include water fountains, clean-up bags, and benches.

The Collett Street Recreation Area is the next best stop in Lima, and boasts over 20 acres of well kept open area, multiple recreational fields, and lighted tennis courts. You and your leashed pup will love it here, thanks to the open area for romping, and features like water fountains, benches, and trash bins. The park also connects to the Lima Rotary Riverwalk, a 4.2 paved multi-use trail for walkers and bikers. Pups must be on a leash on the trail too, but owners must remember to bring water and clean-up bags.

With over eight animal hospitals and an obvious love for humans and dogs, you and Fido won't want to be anywhere but in Lima.
