The dog park is properly enclosed and has different areas for small and large pups. The main drawback is that pit bulls and pit bull mixes are not allowed in the park. Other than that, the park really has everything you need for a furrific day with your dog. It has plenty of trees and grassy space to roll around in, drinking water, tunnels, a digging area, and seating for the pup parents.

Twenty-one miles north of Lowell is another pawesome park that you can take your dog to: Wicker Memorial Dog Park. This park is rich with trees and bushes, and is securely enclosed so you can enjoy a day in the park worry-free. Be aware that dogs have to be registered to use this park -- you can register your dog at the Wicker Memorial Park Picnic Office. Pit bulls and pit bull mixes are not allowed in the park, unfortunately. You'll find a water fountain outside of the enclosed area, so you might want to bring a bowl.

Lemon Lake Park``
Just 6.5 miles north of Lowell, you'll find the Dogwood Run, located at the Lemon Lake County Park in Crown Point. This 14-acre park offers plenty of room for dogs to run, sniff, and meet some new friends. There are two fenced areas -- 7 acres each -- where the dogs can safely enjoy the day. One of the two enclosed areas even has some obstacles that will provide extra fun for your pooch! There are plenty of trails outside of the fenced areas where you can walk your dog on-leash if that’s what you prefer. The main park also has some fun, family-friendly amenities, like disc golf, a fishing lake, party pavilions, ball fields and beautiful places for picnics.

Apollo Park
Rover's Run Dog Park is a little bit further away -- around 28 miles away from Lowell -- in South Homewood. This off-leash, fenced park is a members-only park, so you'll need to acquire a tag from the county if you want to play with your pup here. Other than that, the park offers a lot of amenities for both the dogs and the human visitors. Fresh drinking water is available here, but you'll need to bring some waste baggies. You'll also find shade trees, plenty of grass to play in, and benches for the doggie parents. Fido will also love strutting his stuff on the agility equipment!
