Lynn, Massachusetts, situated on the Atlantic Ocean about 10 miles north of Boston, is a coastal city with a welcoming beach area and a fragrant forest complete with vibrant wildlife and multiple options for outdoor activities. Lynn is also home to a dog park and two veterinary clinics within walking distance from downtown.

Parkland Avenue Dog Park is a simple but nice spot to start your adventures in Lynn with your pup. Hidden between Pine Grove Cemetery and Lynn Woods, this beautiful, fenced dog park is a local favorite of resident pooches. Depending on the time of day, you may bump into a bunch of friendly owners and their mutts, or you may find yourself playing fetch alone with your pooch.

If you're seeking an adventure, Lynn Woods is happy to welcome you and your leashed pup on multiple walking trails leading to a local garden, a cave to explore, and a stone tower providing picturesque views of Boston. Did all that fresh air make you hungry? Porthole Pub, serving hot and cold sandwiches and a bunch of tasty snacks, will welcome your furry baby at the waterfront deck seating. Nahant Beach is a small string of sandy heaven connecting Nahant and Lynn together. This unspoiled, pristine beach is just a perfect place to come by with Fido for a nice walk along the shoreline. Dogs are allowed to swim here from October 1st through April 30th. Attentive dog owners and friendly pups help maintain the area and keep it clean and attractive for new visitors. Even though the beach is clean, you shouldn't let your pup drink the water -- be sure to bring some with you! The beach's rules also insist that dogs need to be kept on leash at all times.
