For a great town that is far enough away from the big city vibe of Nashville, head to Madison. This small town is perfect for dogs and dog lovers alike. Being home to eleven veterinarians, Fido will always be well taken care of when he is in the Madison area.

Taking Fido out to a park for a nice walk and to get some fresh air is a great way to explore and see the cool features that Madison has to offer. Take a stroll in Cedar Hill Park, which offers baseball fields, a duck pond, a playground, covered pavilions with picnic tables, and a running path for you and Fido to enjoy.

If you and Fido are more in the mood for food, try out one of Madison's restaurants that welcome your furry companion to join you for a bite to eat. Head into TGI Fridays for some classic comfort food like burgers, fries, salads, or ribs. They have a dog friendly patio where you and Fido can relax while you chow down on a good meal. If you find yourself in need of a place to stay, the Crestwood Suites Nashville is located right in Madison, and allows one pup up to 35 lbs for an additional fee.

The Bark Park in Mount Juliet is only fourteen miles out of Madison and a pawsome spot to take Fido to run around off-leash and let out some pent up energy. The park is 3/4 of an acre and offers water for dogs, agility equipment for the adventurous dogs, and picnic tables for owners to sit on. There are also huge trees to help provide shade for when Fido needs to take a breather and cool down. Locals love the park, but warn that there are some muddy areas, so bring a towel just in case Fido has a mud bath.
