Just 12 miles northeast of Austin is the town of Manor, Texas. Manor is a quickly growing suburb with a population of more than 8,000. There's a great emphasis on enjoying the outdoors in Manor, and the many parks and green spaces here encourage being outside. The warm Texas climate doesn't hurt, either! There are tons of trees within the park that provide shade on hot days, as well as water fountains and clean-up supplies for dog waste to keep the park in tip-top shape. The West Austin Dog Park is just a little more than a 20-minute drive from Manor. This park is right next to downtown Austin, and it's a popular social spot for not only dogs, but for their owners to socialize as well. The West Austin Park that houses the dog park also features sports fields, picnic shelters, basketball and tennis courts, and a wading pool. Your dog can sniff around the rest of the park with you, but they must be on a leash unless they're in the designated off-leash area. The dog park has several structures of different heights that dogs love to jump on and off of, and there's a hose for giving your dog a drink or rinsing them off at the end of your visit.

Another great dog park in Texas is the Pflugerville Bark Park, and it's only a 13-minute drive from Manor. This park is also referred to as the Falcon Pointe Bark Park, and it has two separate sections for different sizes of dogs. The 2.5-acre park has boulders scattered throughout with built-in seating, and there is also a watering area to keep your pup hydrated. The larger park that surrounds the bark park has miles of trails to walk, bike racks, picnic tables, and even a splash pad that's a blast in the summer. The off-leash area within the park has a small dog section, a large dog section, and a section for all dogs to play together. Volunteers maintain the park and visitors love how clean and tidy it is, because we all know a clean park makes for an enjoyable visit! There's mulch on the ground at this park, and there is also seating and water available as well.
