Worthington Street

Pups love to socialize and spend time running around rolling in the grass and sniffing trees. Canine Cove is an amazing dog park where Fido can run off-leash and do just that! There are two separate areas, one for smaller or older dogs, and one for large pups. The park furnishes clean up bags and there is a water fountain where you can fill your pup’s water bowl. Let your pooch sniff some butts and make new friends while you relax on one of the shaded benches. After spending time in the dog park, you can stroll around the perimeter of the area on the walking path.

Marco Beach

Not far from the dog park, neighbors can enjoy spending time at the Frank E. Mackle Community Park in the Marco Beach neighborhood. You will need to keep your pooch on a leash, but you can walk along the paths or sit at one of the shaded benches while the kids play on the playground. Near the trails, you can find a drinking fountain where you can refill your water bottles, but you will need to bring your own clean up bags. You will probably see some of your dog loving friend out walking with the pups on warm summer afternoons.

Winterberry Drive

Quiet and peaceful, Winterberry Park is an excellent option to walk your dog after a long day at work. You can stroll around the lake and enjoy the view or sit and relax at one of the shaded benches. Pack lunch and hang out at the picnic area. While Fido is having a snifftastic time peeing on the trees, you and the family can enjoy watching the birds and searching for the eagle’s nest. If you want to go out for some dinner, head over to Nacho Mama’s where you can enjoy some nachos Grande and a margarita while your pooch rests under your outdoor table.

South Beach

Residents of Marco Island enjoy taking their pups out on the boat to feel the sea breeze. You can access a public boat ramp at Caxambas Park where you can plan a day on the water, or spend time in the 4-acre park. Walking Fido along the bike path or fishing off the pier is a perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon with the family. You and your pup can buy a snack at the concession stand and relax at one of the picnic tables, or sit on a bench along the water and watch for dolphins and manatees.

North Barfield Drive

Just off North Barfield Drive, you will find a great place to walk your pup in Leigh Plummer Park. This popular destination is frequented by your dog-loving neighbors who need to give their pups some extra exercise in the wide-open field. You will also enjoy the small pond at one end of the park and you can walk along the path and enjoy the views. You and Fido can also relax at the picnic area, but remember to bring your own clean up bags. Close to the park, you will also find the dog-friendly Mario’s Neighborhood Bar and Grille. Invite your friends and their canines to enjoy a beer on the outdoor patio.
