The city keeps getting bigger each year, and keeps expanding,  pushing the town to expand not only in land, but in the number of parks and recreational spots. For now,  Marion has some great dog-friendly parks, trails, and 5 veterinarians ready to keep your pup in top shape. 

The K-9 Acres Dog Park is the gem of the city for most dog-walkers, due to its fenced-in area and wide open space that takes up 8 acres. The dog park has three sections, one for large dogs, another for smaller dogs, and one with an agility course. There's a walking trail, covered sitting areas, water fountains, clean-up stations, and benches.

Willow Park is a flourishing area with vibrant lawns and tall trees in 8 acres of land that rests along the shore of Indian Creek. Park-goers can enjoy a playground, a baseball field, open spots for fishing and swimming, and lots of areas to run around and play. The area is dog-friendly to leashed pups, and offer water fountains, benches, and trash bins.

The Grant Woods Trail is a dog-friendly trail that extends 8 miles through the city, made from dirt, gravel, and sand. Dogs must remain on a leash on the trail, and remember to bring water and clean-up bags.

The neighborhood of Bowman Woods has a mixture of residential homes and dense woods. The area is best known for the large park of Boyson Park, which provides 70 acres of open space, woods, and trails to enjoy right along Dry Creek. Dogs are welcome inside the park, and have access to great features like fenced-in tennis courts, a baseball field, open fields to run around and play, 1-mile of paved walkways, and shaded picnic areas. The area has fishing spots, a small beach for swimming, and additional features like water fountains and trash bins. Chatham Park is another dog-friendly park in the neighborhood, and although much smaller, it has even more open space and places to run around, including lots of shaded sitting areas. Dogs have to remain on a leash inside both parks.

This trail is made from crushed stone and follows along Dry Creek up to 3.4 miles, with benches and water fountains along the path. Dogs must be on a leash inside both areas.

Starry Park is another dog-friendly park in the area that has a large recreational area for pups and humans to explore.
