The Mashpee Town Center neighborhood is host to the Lovell Holly Reservation, a peninsula separating Mashpee and Wakeby Ponds. The dog-friendly trail with the same name arises at S. Sandwich Road and loops out onto the peninsula, where there is another loop and a side trail following a narrow spit of land into Wakeby Pond. The almost 2.5-mile trail is flat and an easy walk, and features several activity options, including a designated section where dogs can swim. This beautiful trail is the pawrfect walk any time of year! For a snack or meal after your walk, head over to Bobby Byrne’s Restaurant and Pub, where you’ll find outdoor tables for sharing your meal with your furry bestie! Great Neck Rd/ Old Barnstable Rd
This neighborhood is home to John’s Pond Park Conservation Area, which is 260 acres surrounding a freshwater pond with over 4 miles of dog-friendly walking trails and bog roads The trails traverse through the trees along the pond and provide opportunities to catch glimpses of many birds and small mammals on the way. The bog roads lead you over the wetland areas where you’re likely to see amphibians and resident and migratory waterfowl like ducks and geese. The neighborhood also contains the John’s Pond Campground, where leashed canine family members are welcome. On 20 acres of land, the campground is located right on the pond with direct access to the park’s hiking trails and is equipped with all the most-wanted campground amenities like showers and restrooms. Mashpee Neck
The Mashpee River Woodlands in Mashpee Neck covers almost 4000 acres of land along the Mashpee River, and contain 8 miles of trails and roads here. With passage through woods, marshes and cranberry bogs, there’s plenty to see here, and you can even canoe or kayak on the river with your fur-pup. Many species of resident and migratory birds live here, including waterfowl and songbirds. In the bogs and marshes, you and Fido will be treated to sightings of water-loving animals like otters and beaver, as well as deer and other mammals. This is a veritable smorgasbord of the senses for him, and scenic views for you! Barktiful!

Hatchville/ Saconessett Hills
Falmouth is a town adjacent to Mashpee and this neighborhood is home to the Falmouth Dog Park, where pent-up, unfocused dogs become happier after socializing and exercising with other happy dogs. With huge separate sections dedicated to large and small dogs, the park is handicapped-accessible and even provides a wheelchair-accessible picnic table. The surface is pea stone, and amenities include benches for the humans, drinking water (not available in the winter), and handy waste receptacles. This is a pawsome place to go with your fur-baby any time of the year – they’ll be happy you did! Tired dogs are happy dogs! Arf!

This East Falmouth neighborhood is where you'll find the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, an open and dog-friendly “living experiment” created to study and catalog the effects of humans on the ecosystem found there. Shared with the town of Mashpee, it is located on Waquoit Bay with its marshes and wetlands, and is home to marked walking trails that leashed dogs are welcome to explore. The beaches are dog-friendly from September 2 through March 31. Also featured on the Reserve’s headquarters’ property is a salt pond, rain garden and pine forest for exploring. Access to all of the trails is found at the headquarters and Visitors Center off Waquoit Highway. This is a pawrrific place to visit with your fur-pup in tow!
