Mehlville invites a person and a pup to enjoy a river breeze and a few outdoor adventures. Mehlville may seem like wilderness, but there is always a convenience nearby. There are three veterinary clinics in Mehlville so a dog does not have to go far to stay healthy.
Mehlville also has two parks that are in or on the city boundary. Union Road County Park is a small green area that serves as a connection point to the 8-mile Grant’s Trail. This long paved trail takes a person and a pup westward, and further into the communities of St. Louis County.
The other park on Mehlville’s border is Jefferson Barracks Park. This St. Louis County park has 426 acres of parkland.Jefferson Barracks has picnic sites and three trails. The Mississippi River Greenway Trail will take you and your leashed pup on a 1.6-mile trek along the Mississippi River. Benches are positioned along the way. A person and their furry companion can marvel at the river’s size and beauty.
The other two trails are the South and North Schick trails. These are both a little over a mile long. The south trail includes a few exercise stations for you (but probably not your pup). Deer heavily populate this locale. No doubt a few will cross you and your leashed friend’s path.
