Arnold is eight miles south of Mehlville. Arnold's Paw Parks make for a perfect afternoon adventure. They are free and open to the public, unlike many of St. Louis County's dog parks. The two Paw Parks are identically designed, and are located at City Park and at Ferd B. Lang Park. The Paw Parks give the dogs an acre of grassy space to call their own! The small dogs have a separate area for safer play, too. Each Paw Park has water available for dogs and their people. Shaded benches make it easy for a dog's person to sit and supervise their pup as they play. Ample doggie bags help remind everyone to keep this public place clean.

St Louis Hills
St. Louis Hills is nine miles north of Mehlville. Southwest Dog Park at Willmore Park gives dogs an acre of grassy fenced space to enjoy off-leash. A separate space gives the small dogs some green grass to call their own. Southwest Dog Park offers kiddie pools for summertime play, and, except in the coldest months, drinking water is available for all. Numerous benches give the human companions a place to sit and supervise their furry friend. The waste stations provide bags for quick pickups. This dog park is for members only. Membership may be obtained from the nonprofit that operates the dog park.

Kirkwood is ten miles north of Mehlville. Treecourt Unleashed Dog Adventure Park has nine acres of fenced property for a pawesome off-leash experience. A small, separate piece of the property makes the small dogs happy. This dog park has trees planted everywhere in it. This little piece of pooch paradise includes water play in the summer months, with enough kiddie pools to get all those wagging tails wet. The Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis City is fourteen miles north of Mehlville. St. Louis University owns the Ellen Clark Sculpture Park and Dog Park on Lindell Blvd. This space has gone to the dogs -- literally! The sculpture park attracted local dogs for a bit of running in a fully enclosed space. First came the dogs from the nearby apartments, and then others came from surrounding towns and areas. This lovely park seems to have become a dual-purpose space. A water fountain designed for pups to drink easily is found in the enclosure. All dogs visiting here will play in the same area; there is no separate area for small dogs. The sculptures delight with their color and form on the natural green grass.
