There are plenty of bird and mammal species throughout the forest, from owls to coyotes. If you are vigilant, you may even spot a beaver dam from the road! Daketown State Forest is just a few minutes outside of Middle Grove in the neighboring town of Greenfield Center. This forest is over 500 acres full of a variety of tree species.
