The small borough of Middlesex is situated to make the life of a person with a furry family member a little healthier and more fun. The borough has one veterinary clinic in town to take care of both routine and more complex veterinary needs. The surrounding larger townships have dozens of options for veterinary care.

Middlesex has several small parks that will give a person with a leashed dog a bit of quality time outdoors. Haverstick Park has some open fields for a stroll and fresh air. Simchock Park has another stretch of greenery for walking and stretching those paws. Steve Fellin Field has large, grassy outfields that can be used for some walking on-leash, as long as you aren't visiting during a game.

For longer and more forested hiking trails, head to nearby Washington Rock State Park. This scenic and historic park is just a 3.5-mile drive from Middlesex. The walking trails will give you and your leashed dog a chance to scale the same path that George Washington took in the Revolutionary War. The overlook in the park is where Washington kept an eye out for advancing British troops.

Back in town, food can be found at Ocean Garden Chinese Restaurant. Chow down on some chow mein at the dog-friendly outdoor table here. Then, top off the day with a sweet treat from Rita's Italian Ice!
