Midland, Texas was the hometown of former first lady Laura Bush and George W. Bush. Midland Texas is geographically located in the middle of the Permian Basin, which is recognized for the containment of rich oil and natural gas reserves. The city is also known for its downtown skyline hence it was nicknamed Tall City.

Main Street Market is an incredible one-stop establishment that has shops, restaurants, street groceries and a gas station. In addition to those, it also has a dog park, complete with separate areas for dogs of different sizes, water and waste stations. What more can you ask for?

If your dog needs more space to run around, you can bring him to Hogan’s Dog Run. The expansive 5-acre dog park has agility equipment, water fountains, waste bags and small dog area. Only dogs four months old and older with complete vaccinations are allowed in the park. Remember not to go on Mondays, because the park is closed for maintenance.

No movie date? No problem, bring your loving pup to Big Sky Drive – In. They’re open seven days a week from 7 PM. Any vehicles are allowed in the movie drive – in such as RVs, Campers and church buses. Dogs are welcome except in the concession area. They must also be leashed if brought outside the vehicle.

Parks aren’t the only thing that dog lovers want to do with their pets. Big Sky Drive-In is a great place to take your dog for a night on the town. This throw-back to a simpler time allows dogs to join their owners in the comfort of their cars. Leash up if you’re walking the grounds between major features or to stretch your legs during a boring part of the film. The only place dogs aren’t allowed is inside the concessions area, so pack your own treats and dog treats… or you can get someone else to order for you.

Hillander’s Windlands Park is a great place to walk leashed dogs. Whether your dog is shy, iffy about recall off leash, or you just don’t have time to head to one of Midland’s off leash parks, Windlands Park is a great resource. It’s large, with several areas for sports and simple grassy spaces. You can walk laps around the park to quickly burn off energy, or make sure your dog gets his daily exercise. You can also keep your leashed dog with you when you use the on sight disc golf course, or host a family picnic. It’s a great place to exercise and relax with your dog.
