Midwest City may have a plain name, but it has plenty of excitement to offer. The city is a dog lover’s paradise. There are plenty of places to walk and stay--and six vet clinics and hospitals within Midwest City if your friend needs a checkup day or night.

Joe B. Barnes Regional Park is a destination for the whole family. They have sports fields, a playground, picnic areas, and an off leash dog park! There’s something for everyone in this Midwest City treasure that lies slightly off the beaten path in eastern Midwest City.

Tom Poore Park is another great place to go if your dog loves to walk. Leash up and head through the paths that connect Pecan Grove Park and Tom Poore Park along Soldier Creek. It’s a gentle, easy walk of a mile or so each way, perfect for a morning or evening stroll. Just remember to pack a walker bowl before heading out.

When you and your dog are both tuckered out, the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel is ready to welcome you home for the night. There’s no pet fee for up to two pets, so your dog can have a sleepover with a puppy pal if you don’t have two dogs of your own.
