Milford is a charming town in New Hampshire with a population of more than 15,000 people. Once a part of neighboring town Amherst, Milford separated in 1794 and got its own name from being built around a mill built on a ford.
Today, Milford is the center of the retail and manufacturing industries of the Souhegan Valley. It's also a lovely place to raise a family, furry members included! You can enjoy outdoor activities year-round here, as Milford experiences all four seasons. Milford also has a handful of veterinarians to ensure your pooch is always in tip-top shape!
One of the most special dog-friendly activities you can do in Milford is hiking the Morrissette Trail. This trail was opened in 2012 as part of Summit for a Cure. The Morrissette Trail takes you from the lowest to the highest point of New Hampshire, and your leashed dog is welcome to join you on your journey, which takes about an hour and a half. All of the $10 it costs to hike the trail goes toward fighting cancer, so not only are you enjoying a beautiful walk with your dog, but you're contributing to a great cause, too.
This dog-friendly activity is just the start of all the adventures you'll have with your dog in and around Milford!
