The town of Millbury, Massachusetts – try saying that five times fast – is located in Worcester County. It was first settled by Europeans in 1716, meaning the town has been around for quite some time. Unfortunately, the town was plagued by a large number of fires in the early 1970s. These fires included the town hall and a local school. Not long after, a propane plant exploded, sending tanks flying hundreds of feet in the air. Thankfully, that’s in the past, and Millbury recently celebrated its bicentennial, or 200th, anniversary.

If you’re a dog owner looking to have some fun with your canine companion, Millbury is a great place to check out! With a few dog-friendly restaurants and a dog park, Millbury has plenty for you and Fido to enjoy together. Millbury has a couple of different veterinarian clinics, so you can pick a vet that works best for your family, including the furry members. Millbury is a town steeped in history, and although your dog probably won’t care about that too much, it makes for an interesting place to visit. Whether you’re looking for a quick getaway or a more permanent stay, make sure to swing by Millbury!

Purgatory Chasm is a natural landmark that you have to see to believe! It’s located just seven miles from Millbury, and if you and your dog are adventurous, you’ve got to go visit. This trail runs for less than a mile, but it’s located between huge pieces of granite. Experts believe the park dates back to the last ice age, which was 14,000 years ago! It’s recommended that you wear hiking boots when visiting, and your dog absolutely must stay on a leash for the entire trip – no exceptions! This is for his own safety. Please remember to clean up after your pet.
