Moss Point, MS is a little city with a mix of swampland and concrete, making it a fun place to explore no matter what your tastes are.  Located in Jackson County, Moss Point -- population density 555 -- is right next to the Mississippi Welcome Center, where you will find a pawpular hiking trail just in time for you to stretch your legs and give your pets a potty break.  This trail is a 1.4-mile beauty full of wildflowers and panoramic views of the flowing Escatawpa River hidden behind the I10 interstate.

Once you get into Moss Point, check in to one of the six pet-friendly hotels you can choose from, all conveniently located in the city center, and to the two local vet clinics in the event of unforeseen medical concerns with Fido.

Moss Point also has seven parks you can visit where Fido can enjoy the walking tracks, splash pads, open lawns, and more.  Interested in exploring the waters of Mississippi?  Check out one of their multiple airboat tours for some local wildlife spotting (some are pet-friendly, some are not, so call ahead!).

When you and Fido find yourselves in need of a little off-leash adventure, you'll find several furrific dog parks just a bone's throw away from Moss Point!

If you are looking for a great place to let your pets run some energy off, take the six-mile drive to Gautier and visit Shepard State Park.  For a small entry fee, you can get access to this park, where, in addition to the RV campgrounds, you will find a wide variety of nature trails.  They can be combined to form an intense eight-mile hike, or you can choose the shorter trails for more moderate exercise.  Along the trails, you will find basic restrooms and showers, as well as spigots for Fido to have water access, but you'll need to bring your own clean-up baggies.
