This 238 acre park features a 10-acre lake for fishing and paddling, playgrounds and sports fields, walking and fitness trails, and a nature trail, all of which welcome Fido on leash. Pizza isn’t the only thing on the menu, but it does take center stage whether it’s classic New York style, or a gourmet specialty with mushrooms, ham, Kalamatas, artichoke hearts, and feta. Morrow Mountain State Park
The Morrow Mountain State Park resides in the small town of Badin, just to the east of Mount Pleasant. This dog-friendly park is open year-round and features more than 15 miles of hiking trails of varying difficulties. Be sure to bring Fido’s leash, as he will have to wear it here, and some water for both of you. There are 3 picnic areas for lunching with your pup, one with 10 tables, and the other with 6 tables inside a shelter complete with a fireplace. There is also a picnic area with a fireplace at the Morrow Mountain Summit. If fishing is your thing, Lake Tillery and the banks of the Pee Deer River are perfect for you and fur-burger to stake out. The campground has 106 sites for tents, RVs and trailers, as well as camp cabins for those without their own accommodations.
